A few reasons for HausChef?
- Every great chef that I ever worked with, always had someone in their family who was a fantastic cook that routinely made awesome meals for them and influenced them into becoming a great chef. This platform is about getting access to those awesome cooks who influenced those great chefs.
- The culinary arts are just that…an art form. After you have worked a few 10-12 hour days in a hot, grueling, sweaty kitchen there is NOT much art left. HäusChef is about finding that art again.
- With so much division around us today, one can always rely on good food to bring good people together.
- This is about community building by sharing a meal at one of our long tables with new friends.
Price?
- Our social dining meals are ‘all-inclusive’ and there is no exchange of money at the events.
Alcohol?
- All Alcohol is Bring Your Own. Feel free to share if you are so inclined.
What time do most dinners start?
- Most dinners start at 7pm, but each chef sets their own start time.
Cancellations and Refunds
- Reservations made at least a week before your meal are fully refundable if canceled within 24 hours of the booking. After this, you will receive a 50% refund if you cancel at least 7 days before arriving at your chef’s house.

Service Fees?
- To help cover the costs of running the HäusChef platform, we charge chefs a decreasing commission when a reservation is completed. The amount of the decreasing commission is calculated from the reservation subtotal and how often the chef uses the platform. The more dinners you host the greater the commission you retain.
- We also charge foodies a booking fee to help with the costs of processing credit card payments,
What’s with the Carrots?
- At HäusChef the foodies get a carrot for every dollar that is spent. That is our way of saying, Thanks for trying something different!
