Authentic South Indian Vegetarian Feast @ Oak Ridges

One of my favorite childhood memories is watching my grandmother in the kitchen. She was like the grand wizard directing people and making some of the most amazing food. She always had something on the go based on the season, making mango pickles from scratch in big porcelain jars, making pappadums (with me to guard it while drying on the terrace of the house) or making big vats of home made sweets and snacks for her daughters during Deevali. Her enthusiasm, energy and effortless organization of big cooking adventures never seized to amaze me. I am from the South of India from a beautiful coastal city called Chennai. Although we live in a multi-cultural city like Toronto much of the Indian cuisine here is from North India and particularly Punjab. I would love to share the unique flavors of South India and some of my old family recipes with the foodies of the Hauschef community. This authentic South Indian vegetarian feast will be served on traditional plantain leaves. Looking forward to learning about your unique cuisines and traditions.
